What this site is

Tether Patrol is a fictional officer character and a community-safety project built around him: part storytelling, part public education about online scams and abuse, part reporting desk. TetherPatrol.com is not a government agency, a law enforcement body, or an emergency service, and nothing on this site creates that impression on purpose. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.

Filing reports

When you file a report or a case follow-up, you confirm that what you are submitting is, to the best of your knowledge, true. Knowingly false reports, reports filed to harass a person rather than to document behavior, and uploads you have no right to share are not allowed and may be disregarded or removed. A case number confirms receipt and review — it is not a promise of any particular outcome, publication, or action by any platform or authority.

Your uploads

You keep whatever rights you have in the files you upload. By uploading them you give TetherPatrol.com permission to store them with your case, review them, and share the relevant material with the platform involved or with law enforcement where a report warrants it. Do not upload anything illegal, and do not upload other people's private personal data (home addresses, phone numbers, identity documents) — screenshots of public posts and profiles are what a case needs.

Content on this site

The character, the artwork, the writing, and the Tether Patrol name and marks belong to TetherPatrol.com. Blog posts are commentary and education; statements about real accounts or events are made in good faith from the material on file, and anyone who believes a post gets something wrong about them can reach us at alert@tetherpatrol.com with the specifics.
